Applications for AutismCRC’s Sylvia Rodger Academy on Autistic Identity and Connection Program open on 23 September 2024. Designed by and for autistic adults, the program offers a deeper understanding of autistic identity and skills in wellbeing and self-advocacy. Queenslanders with Disability Network (QDN) and Griffith University are also relaunching the GRADS Peer Support Group for students with disabilities on 11 September 2024, providing a safe space to connect and share. Don't miss the Hopkins Hour webinar, also on 11 September, covering co-design in research, or the Bold Ideas Better Solutions 2024 symposium on 23 October, focused on interdisciplinary rehabilitation research.

AutismCRC Identity and Connection program will soon be accepting applications!


Autism CRC’s Sylvia Rodger Academy on Autistic Identity and Connection Program will soon be accepting applications for 2024. Please share with anyone who may be in the eligible areas (see note below) and may be interested. Developed by and for autistic adults, this Program is for those who would like to have a more complete understanding of what it means to be autistic and connect with other autistic people and community. 


Autistic Identity and Connection will also help participants to develop skills in wellbeing and self-advocacy, from an autistic perspective. This Program is open to autistic adults in select areas of Queensland, South Australia, Northern Territory and Western Australia, with applications opening 23 September 2024.

Griffith University Access and Diversity (GRADS) Peer Support Group is back!


Queenslanders with Disability Network (QDN) and Griffith University have partnered to reinstate the Griffith University Access and Diversity (GRADS) Peer Support Group. The Grads Peer Support Group connects students with disabilities to come together and discuss matters important to them. This group provides a safe space for sharing lived experiences, exchanging information, and connecting with other students. 


The group will be starting again on 11th of September and then will be meeting on the Second Wednesday of each Month between 2pm and 4pm both in-person and online.

Hopkins Hour: Taking the (Co)nfusion out of Co-Design


In this Hopkins Hour hosted by Louise Gustafsson, the Enabling Technologies and Environments team and their collaborators will share practical examples of how they incorporate co-design into all their activities and research, with a focus on retaining the participatory aspects and not just the process. The presentations will be of interest to all members of the Hopkins community, with information and discussions relevant to consumers, clinicians, researchers, and more.

We invite clinicians, researchers, industry partners, and people with disability to register and attend the 8th annual Hopkins Centre research symposium, Bold Ideas Better Solutions, 2024 (#BIBS24). The theme this year is Interdisciplinary research: solving complex rehabilitation challenges. 


We will examine the value of interdisciplinary research teams and collaborative research in solving complex rehabilitation challenges including emerging health interventions and rehabilitation and disability practices.
