Youthrive is a social enterprise providing allied health supports to children and young people under a profit-for-purpose model. Our purpose is to improve the lives of as many kids as possible. Our profits go to our parent entity and national charity, Act for Kids, to help keep kids safe, heal from trauma and lead happy lives.
Service we offer:
Our team of over thirty clinicians across 4 clinics in Brisbane and on the Gold Coast provide dietetic, occupational therapy, psychology and speech pathology assessment and intervention services. Through evidence-based individual and group therapy, we empower families and equip kids and young people with the skills they need to thrive.
Role available within our organisation:
- Position Allied Health Assistant Internship
- Location Youthrive Labrador, 31 Olsen Avenue Labrador QLD 4215
- Duration 12 weeks
- Hours Part time – 3 days per week
The Allied Health Assistant Internship provides individuals with the opportunity to work within a multidisciplinary team to support the delivery of allied health services to children and young people. Youthrive is committed to offering an intern the opportunity to learn, grow and make meaningful contributions during the 12-week internship.
Key responsibilities:
- Deliver individualised therapy programs to children and young people as developed and supervised by an allied health professional
- Maintain relevant clinical documentation and collect data
- Support the delivery of individual and group therapy programs
- Create therapeutic resources
- Undertake reception and administrative functions including appointment booking and reminders, invoicing, payment processing and preparation of client documentation
- Engage in marketing activities to promote Youthrive services
Skills and qualifications:
- Currently studying an allied health degree
- Confident oral and written communication skills
- An ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team
Other requirements
- Working with Children Check (Blue Card)
- NDIS Worker Screening Clearance
- Fully vaccinated with the prescribed doses of an approved vaccine against COVID-19 or have an approved medical exemption.
